Prove that Yoda was right – “there is another” – and apply for The Martin Group’s Padawan Internship Program

A conference room, deep in the heart of an ad agency. A deadline looms. The budget belt is tightened yet another notch. Copywriters are dropping like flies from 23-hour brainstorming sessions fueled with cold coffee and colder pizza. Art directors, in a desperate bid to find the correct shade of Pantone red for the client’s new website background, turn on each other with X-ACTO knives smuggled from the mounting room. There is muffled weeping from the Traffic department as they systematically shred their delivery schedules. Brand managers have traded their Chanel suits for sackcloth, their Manolo Blahniks stiletto-deep in ashes and rubble from the crumbling ruin that was a creative brief. All is chaos on our Death Star of despair.

The Human Resources Director falls to his knees in supplication on the kidney-shaped conference table. “In the name of all that’s branded, it there no one with a vision to help us in our billable hour of need?” he wails.

And then, you enter – a ray of hope cutting through a slide projector’s PowerPoint haze. Your fresh face, radiating confidence, smiling upon those gathered. You open your portfolio, and all fall silent, gazing upon it in wonderment.

Finally, the Creative Director speaks. “The Force is strong in this one.”

You are… a Padawan.

Okay, maybe that’s a little over the top, but you get the idea. If you are a college student in the Western New York area, and would like to apply for The Martin Group’s Padawan Internship Program, we are currently accepting applications for the fall 2011 semester. For those interested in Creative, please contact Creative Supervisor Dave Riley at (716) 853-2757 ext. 328. Business students should contact Vice President of Client Services Lisa Strock at (716) 853-2757 ext. 319.

College credit is available for those who qualify. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from our award-winning staff things you’ll never find out in a classroom. And we promise, we won’t make you wear the Wookie costume.

To connect with what our current Padawans have been up to here at The Martin Group, take a look at their official Facebook page or follow them on Twitter.
